The floor of the Pavilion used to be a beautiful mosaic map of New York State. They Might Be Giants filmed their video for "Don't Let's Start" here. A while back they stopped maintaining the mosaic, and the mosaic is now totally gone. I don't even understand how that happens. Mosaics from ancient Rome: in great shape. Mosaic from 1964 New York City: fine in 1985, totally gone in 2009.
